Hello my name is Craig and i've been larping in a game called amtgard for about 8 years now.  I'm 25 years old and wanting to try out another larp.  Since we in amtgard rarely focus on roleplay and are an "action sport," I would like to see how other larps go about their gaming.  Feel free to contact me via myspace or send me a reply on these forums.  I don't understand Nero at all, but I did see the movie "Monster Camp," which was about Nero Seattle...still don't know any of the rules.  I understand amtgard, but I think that you all use Hit Points instead of the amtgard method of 1 shot 1 kill (unless you're wearing armor).  Help a noob out

Hi Craig. Glad to hear you are coming out. Nero is quite a bit different. Get ready for more role play vs. amtgard. While combat is fun and there will be plenty, It is by far not the most important part. Nero IN is mostly about the role play. Come out as your character and have fun. We do use hit point base instead of 1 shot 1 kill. HP (or body) is based on what class you are.

Armor is played as having HP of its own above your own so if you get hit, your armor takes damage. There is also of course spells and such.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me or Alex Love (aka Capn') who is our new player liason. Hope to see you at the next event!

I'm Daniel and I am currently working on my RN.  I was invited to check ya'll out by a lovely ex scavenger turned hob and her delightful kitty friend at the last event at my home chapter in WV.  I currently live in the far reaches of eastern kentucky and I consider NERO as an inexpensive alternative to stress management therapy. My hobbies (other than NERO) include sticking peoples veins with needles and pulling foreign objects out of orifices.

My character is a human polearm weilding earth scholar named Vaylen who is bitter, condiscending, rude, and lazy to most people.  However, he is often amused by how easily people can be charmed with a few sparkling words and compliments.  He's still fairly low level but alot of fun to play.

I'm very excited to test out nero indy and hopefully witness someone other than myself blowing up.

I'm Corey, and I'm going to be the assistant head of plot in the upcoming campaign.  I've been playing NERO for 3 years, now, and I fell in love with larping (and NERO) when I first started.  I started out at WAR with a barbarian fighter (with waylay at the first event!) named Hedgehog.  He's since forged to an earth templar (swinging 10s, just like he was as a fighter), but the year is almost up and he almost has enough formal to forge himself back to a fighter :-P  Here, at NERO Indiana, I started out as a player and then moved to Junior Plot.  I'm the only remaining plot member from the previous campaign (although hopefully the former plot members will be future players and NPCs).

My role in the previous campaign involved assisting other plot members, writing and running mod-cards, as well as running a few of my own plotlines in my spare time.  My favorite NPC was Zorlok, a yellow and orange bipedal lizard.

My hobbies other than NERO include other roleplaying games and writing computer programs.  I've written a NERO Character Creator (available at http://nero.corvec.hostcell.net) and I managed the website here for a short period of time.

My name is Chris.

I'm from Boston, but moved to Muncie almost 2 years ago.  I started LARPing as a Page at Ravenholdt almost 13 years ago.  Changed from NERO to Dragoncrest, and played that for about a decade.  I've caught maybe half of the NERO-Indy events, at best.  Most of the ones I was at, you were likely to have seen me either gassing stuff on my Snake Scavenger Alchemist, or else whipping up "World's Best Grilled Cheese" in the tavern.

My other interests include MMOs (@Geodyne on City of Heroes, Moon Guard-US WoW), hockey, the Red Sox, and roller blading.  I'm also an politics junkie.  Like, "picture-in-picture 4 different networks while reading Drudge online", kind of avid.

My other NERO alts include a Human Fighter who's expert at all things two handed, and a Dwarf Rogue who's never met an explosion he didn't like.

I used to be known as "Evil" Chris, but all you young ins and newbies are in luck.  I've gotten old and fat.

My name is Jeremiah.  Long time geek, first year larper.  31, engineer, married, abnormally normal.  My brother Daniel talked me into larping last year and I like it alot.  It is amazing how social all us non social peeps can be.

I play a celestial templar, Terik, who tries to protect his brother Vaylen from the baddies, but more importantly Vaylen's own mouth.  Terik hates the undead and prefers no edged weapons.

Hi, I'm Jamie.  A little late to noticing this thread, but oh wells.  I play a wild elf fighter known as Rynn, and a drake scavenger nobody has had a chance to meet yet named Whirl.  I am currently Junior Plot here at Nero Indy, and try to primarily play at Nero Vanguard.  Other hobbies include reading (currently on the Legend of Drizzt books- don't spoil anything for me! XD), writing, drawing, and doing other craft-like things.  I have an art degree and hope to become a teacher of some sort if I ever get back to college.  For right now I'm working at Petsmart. Smiley  Besides that, not much to say.  Oh, except that the first time I played Rynn, and the first time I played my secondary Soren (now retired) I totally ended up drinking love spells. (I think Rynn got hit by a total of seven throughout the whole weekend)  I freaking hate those potions/spells! XD

Name: Ian Clerc
Hobbies: cooking (I like to experiment) and nero lol
characters: Loxt Trillium (Dwarf)
favorites: The color blue and my girlfriend lol.
things about you we should know -
I currently play in Nero Central Florida, but in August I am moving to Terre Haute, Indiana with my girlfriend (shes going to med school at ISU). I am currently Staffing for nero central florida, so i am looking forward to actually getting to play my character lol. Of course im allways available for plot lol.

Questions I have:
Whats the average character level?
Is there any dwarfs around?
Are there cabins where yall play or do I have to provide my own shelter?
(more of a comment) but I am unable to register on the Main site to sign up for events it keeps telling me that my requested username is available but thats all it says does not let me register.

None of this is the official word since I'm just a player, but I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.

I don't know a specific APL, but unless I've got a bad read on how powerful the other players are, it seems like a lot of characters are in the teens and low twenties.  My main is only level 16, for instance, and I don't ever feel overshadowed or anything.
Our tavernkeep (a PC whose name I forget at the moment) is a dwarf...  There's an NPC dwarf settlement, but we don't have too many PC dwarves about.
There's one bunkhouse where most of us stay each event.  There are one or two smaller buildings that individual characters have claims on as well.  That said, I don't think anybody's going to stop you if you want to tent-camp.

As for Terre Haute, there are several players that go to Rose-Hulman IT (just down the road from ISU), so if you need to catch a ride or anything, I'm sure they'd be glad to help.

Hello, my name is Jesse Ackley, nice to meet you.  We do currently have one dwarf in town but a big clan close by (npcs).  Our average player level changes from event to event but right now its around 15th level.  We have a barracks where we stay but have a nice camp ground that you could put up a tent if you wanted to.  The main page used to be important to log on to but I think you don't need to do that anymore, (Derek correct me if I am wrong).  We pretty much use the forums for communications.  We have several people from Terra Haute that play at our chapter.  It will be nice to have you at our events come August.  If you have anymore questions please let us know or send me a private message.

Ok, names Mike I have been playing nero for about 7 years, character is Velius, I swear I'm not a thief. Easy to meet even easier to forget. Been a while since I have been to an event, used to live next to nero nexus campsite, now live in Danville, il/in. I really want to get back into playing but I have problems getting rides to and from. Feel free to drop me a message anytime, I am more than happy to help plot whenever needed like build things/sets/caves/etc.

Hi Mike,

Where do you live at? Maybe someone lives nearby and can pick you up for events.
