Nightshade Rest, once nearly abandoned, is poised to become the head of Southlands exploration and progress.  As explorers push the edges of the map into these unexplored regions, others gather in their wake.  Seekers of fortune and seekers of adventure alike have been drawn to the promises of these lands, but not all has been smooth running.  In the years where these outposts have lain abandoned, dangers have grown in the shattered gorge of Nightshades Pass and the wyld reaches of the Forests of Creation have encroached on the few remaining settlements.  Miners labor to clear the pass and re-open the mines that have lain abandoned too long, but the echoing sounds of their explosives and pickaxes may be bringing to light more than fortune.  Lumberjacks effort  by axe and saw to push back the encroaching wilderness.  Stirrings are heard of dangers awakening to the discordant unnatural sounds invading the serene natural landscape.  Calls for assistance have gone out in all directions...
